AI-Assisted Card Grading and Premium Encapsulation

Precision Grade AI combines image analysis, deterministic subgrade calculations, expert physical review, and protective encapsulation for eligible sports and trading cards.

How card grading works

Create a submission from your account, ship the cards with the matching manifest, and follow the intake. Accepted cards receive authentication review, multi-point condition grading, a custom label direction, premium encapsulation, and return shipping.

Condition areas and scoring

The grading workflow evaluates centering, corners, edges, and surface on a 0.5-to-10 scale. Confidence checks help separate card defects from temporary scan noise, while defined floor and ceiling rules determine the overall grade.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Precision Grade AI grade a card?
The process evaluates centering, corners, edges, and surface. Image-analysis results pass through confidence checks and deterministic scoring rules, and physical submissions also receive expert inspection before encapsulation.
What cards can be submitted for physical grading?
The current physical service accepts eligible standard-dimension sports and trading cards. Oversized cards, thick patch or booklet cards, and raw autographed cards are not currently accepted for physical encapsulation.
Can I set a minimum acceptable grade?
Yes. You can specify a minimum grade. If the inspected card falls below that threshold, encapsulation is stopped and the card is returned raw; the grading fee remains non-refundable because the inspection work was completed.
Does the AI verify autographs?
No. Precision Grade AI does not verify autograph authenticity or calculate signature-based value premiums.
What appears on a Precision Grade AI label?
The label presents the certified grade, subgrades, and permanent PG identity. Its color direction can complement the individual card or coordinate with a wider collection.
